What Dubai adds to the problem
Dubai is the most competitive labour market in the UAE and the one where attendance disputes cost the most. Between free-zone head offices, tower tenancies with landlord-controlled lobbies, and site stores spread from Al Quoz to Dubai South, most Dubai employers are trying to run one payroll across several very different physical environments. We size the system around that reality rather than selling a single device type.
- Free zone sites (JAFZA, DMCC, DAFZA, Dubai South) require a gate pass and facilities NOC before installation — we prepare this with you at survey stage.
- Tower tenancies in Business Bay, DIFC and JLT often have landlord-managed lobby turnstiles; we confirm at survey whether credential sharing is possible or whether attendance runs independently.
- Where your scope combines attendance with monitored security systems, SIRA licensing applies to the security portion — we work with a SIRA-licensed partner on those projects.
What retail operations run into
Every branch keeps its own timesheet
Fifteen outlets means fifteen spreadsheets arriving at head office in fifteen formats at month end. Consolidation is a multi-day job and errors are invisible until payroll is wrong.
Mall trading hours create split shifts
Retail rotas in the UAE routinely run split shifts with a long midday break. Systems that assume one in and one out per day cannot represent this, so hours are recorded wrong from the start.
Buddy punching is easy when the manager is off-floor
Card or PIN systems in a small outlet with no supervision present are trivially shared. Biometric verification removes the possibility rather than relying on the manager being there.
Compact face or fingerprint terminal per outlet on cloud software, with head-office consolidated reporting
Cloud deployment means no server per branch and no IT visit to add an outlet — head office sees every branch live in one dashboard.
Configured for retail

- Split shift and part-time hour handling
- Per-branch and consolidated head-office reporting

- New outlet added by shipping a pre-configured device — no IT visit
A Dubai example
180-staff facilities contractor, Al Quoz
Replaced paper muster sheets across a head office and four site stores with face recognition terminals and a cloud server. Payroll preparation dropped from three days to roughly two hours per cycle, and disputed overtime claims effectively stopped once staff could see their own punch log.

Questions
Retail attendance in Dubai — FAQ
We are opening new branches regularly. How hard is it to add one?
We ship a pre-configured terminal to the new outlet. It connects to your existing cloud account over wifi or 4G and appears in your dashboard as a new location. No server, no site visit from IT, and no separate licence negotiation.
Can area managers see only their own branches?
Yes. Access is role-based — a branch manager sees their outlet, an area manager sees their cluster, head office sees everything. Payroll data visibility is controlled separately from attendance visibility.
Our mall outlet has no dedicated internet line. What then?
A 4G-enabled terminal with a data SIM covers this, which is common in mall units where landlord internet is expensive or slow to provision. Data usage for attendance sync is negligible — a basic SIM plan is sufficient.
Do you install biometric attendance systems in JAFZA and Dubai South?
Yes. We cover all Dubai free zones including JAFZA, Dubai South, DMCC, DIFC, Dubai Silicon Oasis and DAFZA. Free zone sites usually need a gate pass and a facilities NOC before our engineers can attend — we prepare that paperwork with you during the survey so the installation day is not wasted.
Can you integrate attendance with the building's existing access control in a Dubai tower?
In most cases yes. Towers in Business Bay, DIFC and JLT commonly run a landlord-managed access system on the lobby turnstiles. We install your own terminals inside your tenancy for attendance and, where the landlord permits, read the same credential so staff carry one card. Where the landlord's system is closed, we run attendance independently — which is the more common outcome.
