How many attendance terminals does your site actually need?
- ~30 seconds

Your numbers
How long between the first and last person arriving. Shift change is often 10 minutes; an office start is often 60.

How this is calculated
Staff divided by (throughput × arrival window), floored at one terminal per entrance in use. Where three or more are needed we add one spare, because a single failed terminal at shift change stops the site rather than slowing it.
Throughput figures are deliberately conservative real-world rates, not datasheet verification speeds — the datasheet ignores the walk-up, the retry and the person fumbling for a card behind them. Treat the result as a planning figure; the survey confirms it against your actual doorway.
Why throughput, not headcount
