Questions

Common questions

What is the Suprema XPass D2 best suited to?

Adding weatherproof card readers to an existing or new controller-based system — perimeter gates, car parks and outdoor doors. Where it is the wrong choice: not a standalone device. If you want the reader to control the door on its own over the network, the XPass 2 is the IP version.

How does the Suprema XPass D2 connect?

It connects to an access controller over RS-485 using OSDP V2, or over Wiegand. It has no Ethernet or relay of its own, so it always works as a reader to a controller.

Can the Suprema XPass D2 be used for time attendance?

Not on its own — it is an access control device. It connects as a reader to an access controller, which is managed in BioStar X or third-party software. If you need attendance as well, we pair it with an attendance terminal at the main entrance.

Do you install and support the Suprema XPass D2 across the UAE?

Yes. We supply, install, configure, train your team and support it across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. Call +971 56 614 2543 or message us on WhatsApp for a fixed written quote.
