What Abu Dhabi adds to the problem
Abu Dhabi employers tend to have two attendance problems at once: a head office that needs clean payroll data, and labour accommodations or remote sites where the real workforce is. Contracting and industrial clients here also face audit scrutiny from main contractors and government clients that a spreadsheet cannot survive. We design for the audit trail first, then the payroll export.
- ICAD and KIZAD sites require zone authority access permits for engineers — allow an extra working day for first mobilisation.
- Main-contractor and government audits typically require an immutable punch log with manual edits separately flagged; the software is configured this way by default.
- Al Ain and Al Dhafra installations are normally combined survey-plus-install trips to avoid duplicate mobilisation charges.
What logistics operations run into
Nobody knows who is in the yard
In an emergency or during a stock investigation the question is who is currently on site, including drivers and third parties. A paper gate register cannot answer that in real time.
Third-party drivers and contractors are unmanaged
People who are not employees still enter daily. Without enrolment and expiry control they are either unrecorded or recorded on paper that is never reviewed.
Shifts start at the yard, not the office
Attendance captured at an office door misrepresents when loaders and drivers actually started work, which shows up directly in overtime disputes.
Weatherproof face or card terminals at the yard gate, with a live on-site roster and contractor expiry management
Places the attendance event where work actually begins and gives the gate a real-time answer to who is currently inside.

A Abu Dhabi example
Civil contractor with 6 labour accommodations, Mussafah
Rugged fingerprint and face terminals at accommodation gates plus site-level mobile clock-in for supervisors. Headcount reconciliation between camp, bus and site — previously a manual morning exercise — now runs as a single report, which mattered most during client and authority audits.
Fingerprint + face · 14 devices · on-premise server · bus manifest reports

Questions
Logistics attendance in Abu Dhabi — FAQ
Can we get a live list of who is on site for fire evacuation?
Yes. A muster report shows everyone currently inside based on the last in/out event, accessible from a phone or tablet at the assembly point. This is frequently the requirement that gets the project approved by HSE rather than HR.
Can the terminal open a vehicle barrier as well?
Yes. Terminals with relay outputs drive boom barriers and gate motors directly, so an authorised driver's credential both records the event and opens the gate. Vehicle and pedestrian gates are usually configured with different access rules.
Will outdoor terminals survive a UAE summer?
Only if specified for it. We use IP65-rated units with an operating range covering UAE ambient temperatures, mounted under shade where possible. A standard indoor terminal on an unshaded yard gate will fail — that is a specification error rather than bad luck, and we quote outdoor units accordingly.
Do you cover Al Ain and the Western Region?
Yes. Al Ain and Al Dhafra including Ruwais are served from our Abu Dhabi operation. Survey lead time is two to three working days rather than same-day, and for remote sites we normally combine the survey and installation into a single mobilisation to keep your cost down.
Can the system produce the attendance audit trail our main contractor asks for?
Yes, and this is the most common reason Abu Dhabi contractors call us. The software retains an immutable punch log per worker with device ID, timestamp and verification method, exportable to Excel or PDF per project, per cost code or per date range. Manual edits are permitted only with a reason code and are shown separately from device punches, which is what auditors look for.
