How does the Suprema BioEntry R2 connect?
It connects over RS-485 using OSDP V2 to an access controller or a Suprema device acting as master. It has no Ethernet or Wiegand of its own, so it cannot work standalone.
Can the Suprema BioEntry R2 be used for time attendance?
Not on its own — it is an access control device. It connects as a reader to a controller or Suprema device, which is managed in BioStar X. If you need attendance as well, we pair it with an attendance terminal at the main entrance.
