The Suprema BioStation 3 Max is Suprema's flagship access control and attendance terminal. It recognises faces in about 0.2 seconds and also accepts fingerprint (on the ODB and OAPB versions), RFID and mobile credentials, QR code or PIN on a 7-inch touchscreen. It holds 100,000 users and 5,000,000 logs, is rated IP65 and IK06, and has a built-in VoIP intercom.

What the BioStation 3 Max does

  • AI face recognition in about 0.2 seconds from 0.3 to 1.3 m, including users wearing masks, glasses, hats, beards or niqabs
  • Fingerprint matching at up to 400,000 matches per second (ODB and OAPB versions)
  • Infrared live face and live finger detection against photos, screens, simple 3D masks and fake fingerprints
  • RFID (EM, MIFARE, DESFire EV1/EV2/EV3, FeliCa; HID iCLASS and Prox on APB and OAPB), NFC and BLE mobile credentials, QR code and scrambled PIN keypad
  • Built-in VoIP intercom with SIP, microphone and speaker for calls to reception or security
  • Secure boot, CC EAL6+ certified components, and tamper detection that alerts and wipes data
  • Template on Mobile keeps biometric templates on the user's phone for on-device matching
  • IP65 and IK06 rated, operating from -20°C to 50°C
  • PoE+ power and data over one cable (APB and OAPB versions)
  • Authentication height range that includes wheelchair users

Where it is the wrong choice

It is priced as a flagship, and for a single-shift office it is more terminal than you need. The four versions differ in fingerprint, HID card support and PoE+, and PoE+ needs an 802.3at switch — standard PoE will not power it.

How does the Suprema BioStation 3 Max connect?

It supports Gigabit Ethernet, RS-485 (OSDP V2), Wiegand in/out, PoE+ (APB, OAPB), USB-C. In UAE installations we normally run terminals on wired Ethernet, keeping wireless as the fallback where cabling is impractical.

What software runs the Suprema BioStation 3 Max?

It works with Suprema's BioStar X security platform. We connect the attendance data through to payroll and produce a WPS-ready export, so punches become a payable file rather than a report someone has to retype.
